Conference “Implementing the Istanbul Convention. The role of the educational and academic system”

University of Milano-Bicocca – Milan (Italy)
27th and 28th October 2023

The “Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence” was signed on 10th May 2011. Over the years, the Convention has become a subject of controversy but also a way to prevent gender-based violence and to change institutions and mentalities. The conference aims to highlight the crucial role that the education and higher education system can play in the implementation of the Istanbul Convention, thanks to the establishment of transnational networks and the collaboration among researchers and experts. The conference intends to develop a fruitful dialogue between different cultures and disciplines, to gather information on the application of the Istanbul Convention in each interested country, and to plan common strategies for building ad hoc academic networks.

There is no charge for attending the conference, but a registration for the participation is needed at the following link
